2000-2010: Summing Up a Strong Decade

Well, I guess we are all here now anticipating... We are few hours before we say goodbye to 2009 (Greece time: 4.30pm, 31 of December) and the decade that goes with it. A decade that was remarkable in many ways and for many reasons. Here is a Summing Up effort of the decade :). 1) I became an adult and left adolescence behind me. 2) I succeeded in my exams for joining college (Public Universities here in Greece) and for the first time left my home in Athens and lived alone for 5 years in North Greece (Thessaloniki) where I was accepted to study Economics. 3) Had a wonderful student life and tasted my first plate of abundant FREEDOM. 4) I met my true self and realized what I don’t want. 5) Came back home after studies and I lost myself. 6) Three years I was trying to get over myself and reconstruct. 7) I finally made it. The best one of all the years of the decade was 2009. I will never forget about this year and how it changed me. 8) 2009: I stepped out of my comfort zone (Greece) and traveled alone to USA. My first trip abroad ever. Found the strength and courage to start my own business in English. I and few people more, brought a new trend in Greece, the one of Personal Development and Life Coaching. I got engaged and I lost a very good friend of mine that left us suddenly at his 32 years of life. My gratefulness for whatever I currently have in life does not leave me not even one day with a dull moment. I became a HAPPY person with a clear purpose and realized in addition to what I did not want, what I do want. Here’s to a much more promising new year full of positive thinking and ACTION toward our desires and goals. The clock is ticking... Let’s prepare for a powerful new year. Kind Regards,

I hope the new decade will be equally rewarding for you and full of all sorts of experience.As you have already discovered, not all experience is good but even the bad prepares you and changes you in subtle ways.

Thank you very much, I have realized that I prefer to be a real adult with "strong" experiences behind me that have given me wisdom and made me stronger rather than stay always a child that has not been ever "burned" and never takes the responsibilities of life. I am mostly grateful for the dark times of my life because these have brought me here to today where I am happy and living a life of purpose and power. I really dislike seeing adult people that are acting like children. From a point and after that stops being cute. :) Happy New Year!!!
Good job! I had an excellent eighth decade of life and learned more than I thought possible which put me on track for the solution for my retirement shortfall. Now all I can say is DO IT AGAIN IN 2010!

Congratulations Joanna for 'finding yourself.' Yes we ALL need to have experienced the 'bad' times, otherwise we would never be able to determine when we were experiencing 'good' times as we wouldn't have anything to compare them to. Keep your focus positive and you can only progress in the direction chosen. There are people in the world, looking in your direction for assistance. Seek them out and satisfy their need. It's YOUR calling.
